Under the direction of Hok Kwan the orchestra will perform works by JS Bach, Haydn, Manfredini Piazzolla, and Vaughn Williams. The program will feature Soloists: Margie Christ, Christopher Reibling, & Jane Quinn – violin. Guest performers, Natalie Stephenson – flute, Wai-chung Rachel Kwan – harpsichord. SOLOISTS: Wai-chung Rachel Kwan (soprano) in Mozart's "Exsultate, Jubilate" ("Rejoice. Be Glad") for soprano and orchestra; Hok Kwan (violin) in Sarasate's "Zigeunerweisen" ("Gypsy Airs"); Chris Chase with Chris Reibling (violins) and Keith Wilson (cello) in Manfredini's Christmas Concerto.
There will also be a carols sing-along accompanied by the orchestra.

Program will include Prokofiev's Overture on Hebrew Themes for clarinet, piano, and strings, Handel's Concerto Grosso Op. 6, No. 1, Rossini's String Sonata No. 2, and works by three Scandinavian composers. Program features the Cantata "Christ Lay in Death's Dark Prison", along with other orchestral and solo works by Bach. Soloists are Wai-chung Kwan, mezzo soprano; and David Mitchell, bass-baritone. The concert takes place at First Wesleyan Church, 399 Boars Head Road, Millidgeville, Saint John. Soprano soloists: Wai-chung Rachel Kwan, Giselle Roy. Saint John Bach Choir. In this concert, Alto Mare will be joining forces with the Saint John Bach Choir in Vivaldi's choral masterpiece "Gloria" with soprano soloists Wai-chung (Rachel) Kwan and Giselle Roy. Other works in the program include Symphony No. 1 by Haydn, Hungarian Dances by Farkas, Simple Symphony by Britten, and a Christmas carols sing-along with the audience.
Venue: St. John's (Stone) Church, 87 Carleton St., Saint John.

July 16th; 12:15 PM - 12:50 PM."Times & Places" - Wai-chung Kwan plays Mozart and Mendelssohn in a piano solo recital of the Summer Noon Concert Series.Did you know the British completed Fort Howe in Saint John in 1778, the same year as Mozart wrote his stormy Piano Sonata in A minor? And did you know that Mendelssohn wrote one of the masterpieces of solo piano literature - "Variations sérieuses" - in 1841, right around the same time as Joseph Casavant (the founder of Casavant Frères which built the fine organ in the church where this concert is going to take place in) received his first contract to build a brand new organ?
